Greetings for all the newcomers here I would like to debunk a myth about "non-vbv" and "vbv" cards.
There is no such thing as non-vbv/vbv "bins" or non MsC, non Amex safekey or non Discover protectbuy cards
This is how the online payment processing goes in the most simple terms that I can explain the process
1. You go to the website you desire to card and proceed to the checkout page. You input the cvv details and then encrypted data is sent through what is called a payment gateway to the payment processor. Every payment gateway for example in EU is required to be 3DS compliant through SCA and PDS2 laws(feel free to look these up). In the US and most other countries the gateway or processor is not required to be 3DS compliant and this is why you find a mix of websites that do not require 3DS
2. When the payment is going through the gateway a series of over 42 data points are measured to generate a fraud score that will be then sent to the processor where the processor either authorizes or declines the transaction. In the case of 3DS it sends a message back to the gateway to require more information such as a OTP. Should the business owner decline or disable this optional security your transaction will still generate a fraud score but will either be declined or approved based on the data points and fraud score.
A gateway is the bridge between the customer, business and the businesses merchant account the gateway is where the approvals or declines come from not the processor itself.
Now what does this have to do with "VBV Vs Non-VBV"?
Each bank has a different threshold for what is considered unusual and what they consider a normal transaction and this threshold is changing everyday as banks use AI to combat fraudulent transactions. Some banks/bins are weaker than others but the majority of major institutions have automatically enrolled account holders in 3D-Secure programs as Visa, Msc, Discover and Amex are the ones doing for them.
The solution? Finding 2DS gateways that are congruent with your carding goals that completely bypasses any 3-D Security requirements while finding BINS/Banks with weaker security and a lower threshold for fraud detection. Which is a matter of trial and error that takes time, energy, some money and creativity.
So don't be scammed by non-vbv bins(this applies to US, EU and CA carders) as that is not how 3-D Secure works. I am not saying some bins do not have that lower threshold but the majority of cards in these countries are by default 3-DS enabled by Visa, Msc, Discover and Amex.
My suggestion is doing research on how the online payment process really works prior to carding and then making a decision after learning the fundamentals of carding prior to don't just try to jump out the gate, spend a ton of money and kick yourself when it doesn't go as planned.
P.S. I am not trying to come at any vendors claiming to sell non-vbv or non-msc pieces I am just trying to educate everyone as to what 3-DS is and how it works and to not get it confused with a weak payment gateway and processor because that's what gets your approval card more than the bin itself.
Cheers!
