Knowledge on making bins

I cant remember if its called making bins but along the lines of it.
I currently have 7 creditcards with a AMEX on the way, a few years ago an old friend of mine told me that I can generate working ccs if I get a real one and use 4 to 6 numbers of it. I do not remember it completely but im trying to see if it would even be possible

I'm brand new, but my understanding is that if you know the BIN, you can guess the rest. Your not generating a card, your guessing someone else's.
That would be different that store cards/ carding.

I know that, but I mean with a bin of a new real cc if it is possible. Before my friend got raided he told me has working on that, so I was wondering as i never got to hear the result.
