How to start carding?

Like many people I am kinda new to carding. I am wondering how should I start? When I look on forums I only see people saying that you should try things for yourself, but how can someone learn carding if people are vague? How did you learn carding? I understand that people don't want to share methods, but it almost looks like that carding is dead. I only see scammers and people who give vague answers.
